Because the table was glued to silver rounds other glass places did not want to touch the work.  The staff member Mitzi was so helpful when I enquired and they found a solution, made to new top with an added suggestion of rounding the corners to help mitigate any future issues. I phoned Auckland Glass after hours on Saturday and they sent a glassier within 3 hours to our Piha property, and he was able to fit a temporary glass, making the place secure and weather proof and also cleaned up and took the broken glass away. They had to then order the lower pane which was a special ribbed glass, and were able to return and fit both glass, with putty.  We had a booking starting the next day so you can imagine the relief. Hinged glass shower doors

A hinged door is a simple choice for an alcove or corner shower, with relatively few fittings to clean. Allow room for the door and handle to swing clear of the vanity, toilet and towel rails.

Sliding glass shower doors

A sliding door saves swing space in a compact bathroom. The enclosure still needs enough width for overlapping panels and a comfortable entrance. Allow for cleaning around the guides, rollers and overlapping glass.

Fixed panels & glass shower screens

Fixed panels give walk-in showers an open feel, while bath screens help contain spray over a bath. Panel size and showerhead position affect splash protection.

Safety glass and installation

The right glass, secure supports and sound waterproofing all contribute to a safe shower installation.

Glass specification. Building Code clause F2 addresses glazing safety. NZS 4223.3 covers human-impact safety requirements.
Fixings and waterproofing. Plan suitable support points with your builder or tiler before the glass is ordered.
Safety marking. Look near a panel corner or edge for its permanent safety mark. Ask your installer if you cannot identify it.
Consent. A like-for-like glass swap usually doesn't need building consent, but changes to waterproofing or plumbing might. If in doubt, ask us.

Which should you choose? As a rule of thumb, if the door has room to swing, hinged is the tidiest option. If it would hit the vanity or toilet, go sliding. If you want the most open look, go with a fixed panel or walk-in. Before you call, it helps to know your wall-to-wall width, floor-to-ceiling height, and where the taps, showerhead and nearby fittings sit. We take the final measurements once your tiling is finished.

Ask for the terms covering your chosen glass, hardware and installation before accepting the quote. Keep the warranty and care instructions together.
Usually yes. This is however subject to checking the tray, walls, waterproofing and fixing points. Old frames may leave holes or unfinished surfaces that need attention first.
Damaged toughened glass needs professional assessment and replacement. Stop using the shower and contact our emergency glass repair team on 0800 804 804.
Rinse and squeegee after use, and follow the cleaning instructions for your glass. Easy-clean coatings can help, but still need regular care.
Usually not for a like-for-like glass swap, but it depends on whether waterproofing or plumbing is also changing. If in doubt, check with your council or ask us and we'll be able to determine if consent is required.
Lead time depends on the specification and site readiness, with sealant curing time needed after fitting. Once we know what is required for your project we can provide a firm lead time.
Final measuring and fitting should follow tiling. Discuss the design earlier so your builder and tiler can plan accordingly. We are able to recess glazing channel before the tiles are installed for a fully frameless look.
Maximum sizes vary with the glass and hardware system. Share your opening dimensions and preferred height so we can assess the options.
