Because the table was glued to silver rounds other glass places did not want to touch the work.  The staff member Mitzi was so helpful when I enquired and they found a solution, made to new top with an added suggestion of rounding the corners to help mitigate any future issues. I phoned Auckland Glass after hours on Saturday and they sent a glassier within 3 hours to our Piha property, and he was able to fit a temporary glass, making the place secure and weather proof and also cleaned up and took the broken glass away. They had to then order the lower pane which was a special ribbed glass, and were able to return and fit both glass, with putty.  We had a booking starting the next day so you can imagine the relief. How much do custom mirrors cost?

Mirror glass type and size are the starting point. The final price also reflects the shape, edge finish, backing and installation requirements.

Things that impact the cost:

Size and shape. Larger mirrors use more glass, and shapes like arches or irregular cut-outs take more work than a simple rectangle.
Glass type and edge. Vinyl backed, tinted and antique glass, and decorative edges like bevels, each affect the price.
Options and installation access. Extras such as a demister or LED lighting or tricky access like stairs or wall-sized panels, can change the cost.

Custom cut mirrors: how to measure

Measure width & height

Record dimensions in millimetres. If the mirror fits an opening, measure at several points to reveal variations.

Mark nearby fittings

Note taps, sockets, lights and cabinet doors. Include any gaps needed around the mirror.

Show the shape

Photograph the wall and add a simple sketch. Include the diameter for round designs or overall dimensions for curves.

Ask for the current lead time with your quote. Timing depends on the glass, shape, edge work and installation schedule, so share any renovation deadlines when you enquire.
In most cases yes, but tell us what you have in mind before ordering. We’ll confirm whether we can accommodate the requested lighting or demister arrangement. Availability and any electrical work need to be established separately.
Standard edge finish is flat polished edges, although straight beveled edges are an option.
It has a protective backing applied to the rear of the mirror, intended to help retain fragments if the glass breaks. Suitability depends on the application, product specification and fixing method.
Measure width and height in millimetres, note nearby fittings and photograph the wall. These measurements help with your enquiry. We will always do a final measure before quoting to be sure of the fit and finishes required.
A frameless mirror has no surrounding frame. Its edges remain visible, and the fixing method depends on its weight and the wall. Ask us to confirm the available edge and mounting options.
We can deliver really big mirrors! The maximum depends on the glass specification, delivery access and installation method. For a wall-sized mirror, send the overall dimensions and access details so we can assess panel sizes and any joins.
